Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts…” – Hebrews 3:15
This Car Dealership Analogy Hit Me Hard
I don’t know about you, but have you ever visited one of those car dealerships where they try to upsell you on every feature under the sun?
You walk in, check out a few cars, and finally settle on “the one.” Right before you sign the paperwork, the salesperson shows you something they really want you to consider: a magical product called GardX.
It’s a highly resilient ceramic coating that forms a durable barrier over your vehicle’s paintwork. The demo video shows rain sliding right off the windows like it’s nothing. No streaks. No stains. It’s shiny, protected, and resistant to corrosion. And all it’ll cost you is an extra £299.
But this post isn’t about whether you should buy GardX. It’s about something more personal… something deeper.
Have You Coated Your Heart in GardX?
How many of us have coated our hearts in “GardX”?
Not the actual product, but spiritual GardX.
We’ve got so many layers of defense, distraction, and pride that the Word of God has no entry point. It just slides off, like rain off a ceramic-coated windshield or like a kid on a water slide.
52 Weeks in Church… and Still No Change?
Some of us sit in church 52 Sundays a year, and by December, nothing has changed:
- You still harbor resentment toward your spouse.
- You’re still bitter.
- You’re still impossible to work with.
- You’re still resistant to correction.
And Jesus? He’s not evident in your life. Why is this? Because there’s a protective film over your heart. You’ve put up a spiritual coating that repels conviction, transformational change, and truth.
What GardX Represents Spiritually
GardX represents anything that keeps the Word of God from penetrating your heart:
- Addictions
- Busyness
- Idols
- Past trauma
- Stubborn pride
- Toxic relationships
Like the chasm between heaven and earth, there’s a chasm between you and God. And every week, God shoots His truth like a basketball toward the hoop of your heart… but it’s like He’s just shooting bricks. He’s hitting the rim and missing every shot.
The thing about GardX is that it’s great for your car. but terrible for your heart, both literally and spiritually. And I feel God is saying: It’s time to strip off the coating, my child. Take it off,I want to come in. Let’s do business.
No More Wasted Time
We can’t afford to keep playing church. We can’t keep sitting in pews while spiritually protected from transformation.
Now is the time to open your heart. Let the Word land. Let the Spirit work. Let God in.
Final Thought
If this resonates with you, ask yourself this: What’s coating your heart today?
And what would happen if you let God strip it away?
