Discover the Real Freedom Found in Christ
When you hear the word freedom, what comes to mind?
For many, freedom means living without restrictions, being free to do whatever we want, whenever we want. Others might define freedom as the ability to follow their own desires and make their own choices.
But what if true freedom isn’t about doing whatever we want?
The World’s View of Freedom vs. God’s Design
Culture often defines freedom as the absence of constraints. It tells us that freedom is found in independence, self-expression, or unlimited choices.
But this version of freedom can often leave us feeling empty, lost, or even more trapped than before.
The Bible offers a different definition of freedom: one that leads to life, peace, and purpose.
What the Bible Says About True Freedom
In 2 Corinthians 3:17, the Apostle Paul writes,
“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”
According to Scripture, true freedom isn’t about escaping limits; it’s about living in step with God’s Spirit.
When we choose to follow Jesus, we are given a new heart and a new way to live. God’s Spirit comes to dwell within us, guiding us to live out our true identity and purpose. This is where real freedom begins.
Freedom in Christ: More Than a Feeling
True freedom doesn’t come from doing whatever we want. It comes from living the way God designed us to live.
When we surrender our lives to Jesus, we are no longer bound by sin, shame, or fear. The Holy Spirit empowers us to walk in obedience, love, and truth.
And this kind of freedom isn’t just for us to keep to ourselves.
Called to Share the Freedom We’ve Found
As followers of Jesus, we are called to share the freedom we’ve received. The good news of Christ’s freedom is meant to be spread, not reserved for a select few.
Whether it’s through our words, actions, or daily lives, we have the opportunity to help others experience the freedom that only Jesus can give.
Take a Moment
Right now, pause and thank God for the freedom you have in Him. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you walk in that freedom today and to show you how to share it with others.
